Duo Left 14-Month-Old Child Alone To Drown While They Went To Get High, Reports Say

Two women were busy getting high when a child drowned in a hot tub, reports claim.
On Nov. 16, Monica and Erica Goodwin were at home with Monica Goodwin’s 14-month-old child. The home was located in Clark County, Kentucky, according to WKYT.
The two were upstairs and left the child alone downstairs, according to the report.

Police said the child was alone long enough to climb into a hot tub inside the home and drown, WKYT reported.
When police responded, they found drug paraphernalia in the home. The Goodwins told social services they left the child alone to go upstairs and get high. They said they regularly use meth, according to WKYT.
The duo was arrested this week and were both charged with manslaughter. They were booked into jail and bond was set at $50,000.
