Kentucky man allegedly tells family he killed woman. Cops make ‘gruesome’ discovery of duct-taped body in his truck.
A Kentucky man allegedly told his family he killed a woman and her body could be found in his truck, police said.
On Sept. 22, Denny Rumfelt, 29, arrived at his home in Vine Grove and allegedly made the confession to his brother and parents and told them the body was “wrapped up in carpet and has tape around it,” WDRB reported, citing an arrest report.
Rumfelt surrendered without incident to Meade County Sheriff's Department deputies who responded to the home a short time later.
After law enforcement secured a search warrant, investigators discovered a sleeping bag wrapped with gray duct-tape on the passenger side of a 1997 GMC Sierra pickup truck, according to the report.
Deputies removed the multi-colored sleeping bag from the truck and, after a coroner arrived on scene, investigators opened it up and found the body of a female with tape around her mouth and on her eyes, the court document states.

Rumfelt allegedly had cuts on his arm and finger as well as blood on his clothing and body. He was arrested and booked into the Meade County Detention Center on charges of murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse. He was being held on $50,000 bond.
“It is very gruesome and rare here in Meade County,” Meade County Sheriff's Detective Danny Knell said of the grisly discovery, according to WDRB.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim or her cause of death.
