A Kentucky man faces a murder charge after police say human remains were found buried on his property.
According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers received information about a possible body buried on a property near Larue County, Kentucky.
Police did an extensive investigation and a search warrant was obtained to search a home in Larue County on Sept. 24, authorities said.
While searching the home, police found the remains of an unidentified person found buried underneath a large pile of debris in the backyard of the residence.
Foul play was suspected to be the cause of death for the victim, WLKY reported.
After that discovery, detectives said they charged 59-year-old David Puyear with murder and he was booked into the Larue County jail.
The remains that were found were sent to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and examination, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, so police said more charges could be forthcoming.
