Man drove to a Kentucky home and opened fire in front of children, killing one person: cops

A man is accused of driving to a home, opening fire in front of families and children and killing one person.

On March 5, Ohio County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Rockport, Kentucky, home for a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to the hospital.

Investigators said Aaron McQuady traveled to Rockport and then used multiple guns to open fire on the home.

Matthew Wallace and Christopher Wallace were shot. Matthew Wallace died from his injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

Multiple families and children were present during the “rapid gunfire,” according to the sheriff’s office. The incident was captured on nearby surveillance cameras.

Authorities have not said what caused McQuady to allegedly drive to the home and start shooting. They also didn’t say if he knew the victims.

The next day, McQuady was arrested at his home and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree assault. Investigators say additional charges are pending.
