Nurse Accused Of Killing 97-Year-Old Patient With 'Medical Mistreatment,' Now Faces Murder Charge

A nurse in Kentucky faces a murder charge after a nearly 100-year-old patient was killed during “medical maltreatment,” according to officials.
On Aug. 23, police in Lexington, Kentucky, announced that Eyvette Hunter, 52, was arrested and charged in connection to the death of 97-year-old James Morris.
Morris was a patient at Baptists Health Lexington medical facility, police said.

Hunter worked as a nurse and intentionally performed actions of “medical maltreatment” on Morris, police said. Investigators did not provide further details about the alleged actions.
Morris died on May 5 as a result of the treatment.
A grand jury indicted Hunter on a murder charge and she was arrested. Baptist Health Lexington has cooperated in the investigation.
