A woman stabbed her husband to death and then claimed it was an unknown attacker, police said.
Last week, authorities arrested Cocina M. Penn, 41, in connection to the death of her husband, Robert Penn, 56.
Around 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 4, police in Paducah, Kentucky, responded to a reported stabbing. When police arrived, they found Robert Penn lying in the street with numerous cuts. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Cocina Penn told police she and her husband were walking around 3 a.m. when an unknown man attacked, police said.
However, police determined that wasn’t the case and she killed her husband, authorities said.
Officers arrested Cocina Penn on a charge of murder/domestic violence.
