Meeting at abandoned home in Las Vegas ends with one dead, one in cuffs
A meeting at an abandoned home in Las Vegas ended with one dead and a person accused of murder.
Around 2:30 p.m. on March 14, Las Vegas Metro police received a call of a person shot on Newport Street. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. The name of the victim has not been released.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined the victim was meeting a suspect at an abandoned home, according to Las Vegas Metro police. During the meeting, there was an altercation leading up to the shooting.
A friend arrived at the home a short time later and found the victim, police noted.
On March 17, police identified Jose Venegas as a suspect and arrested him. He was charged with open murder and violation of probation.
