A man faces murder charges after police said he intentionally ran over a victim in broad daylight following an argument in a Las Vegas parking lot.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a 911 call reporting a man was run over by a vehicle in the parking lot of an Autozone around 12:50 p.m. July 7. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died, according to Las Vegas police.
Homicide Detectives said the victim was standing in the parking lot when he got into a dispute with David Welch, 54.
During the dispute, Welch allegedly stepped on the gas and ran the victim over before fleeing the area, according to police.
Detectives found and arrested Welch on July 8. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of open murder, and was ordered held without bail.
Officials said the identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
