Duo's robbery spree in Las Vegas parking garages ended with two dead and their arrest: cops
A robbery spree in Las Vegas parking garages ended with two people dead and two suspects in cuffs, police said.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, Las Vegas police responded to a shooting in the parking garage of a shopping center along Las Vegas Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound, according to Las Vegas Metro police. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said a black man got out of a car and approached the victim. The suspect tried to rob the woman, but she refused to give up her property.
The suspect then shot her and got back into the vehicle where a second suspect was waiting, according to police.
Around 5:15 p.m., police responded to a nearby parking garage of a casino. There, a victim said a suspect was armed and demanded his property. The suspect fired a shot, but the victim was not struck, according to police.
Around 6:15 p.m., police were called to yet another shooting in a nearby casino parking garage. There, officers found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives determined all the incidents were related and that Jesani Carter and Jordan Ruby were the suspects. Police say the duo entered the garages with the intent to rob and shot towards the victims.
The duo was arrested and charged with open murder.
None of the victims’ names have been released.
