A Washington man raped his fiancée’s friend while partying in Las Vegas ahead of his wedding, police say.
Omar Delaney, 35, and other guests were on the Las Vegas strip on April 19, authorities said. Delaney offered to walk the woman back to her room, which was next door to the bride and groom’s room, police said.
Delaney followed the woman into her room and started fondling her breasts, police said.
According to Newsweek, the court report said, “[She] told Omar, ‘I don’t like it,’ and tried to scoot away from Omar,” and he responded, “OK.”
Authorities said Delaney left the room, but came back a few minutes later and started taking off the victim's clothes before performing a sex act on her. The woman was afraid he would become violent if she resisted, according to police.
Again, Delaney left the room, but came back a few minutes later, climbed on top of the woman and raped her, police said.
Afterward, the woman went to another guest’s room, but by that time, Delaney was in that room. She told this other guest she had a bad dream and that is why she was upset, police said.
The woman went back to her room and called her mom. Then on April 20, she called the police to report the alleged sexual assault, according to authorities.
Newsweek reported that the woman’s hotel key was found in Delaney’s room and was used at 12:21 a.m., 12:38 a.m., 1 a.m. and twice at 1:29 a.m.
Court records show that Delaney was arrested April 20 on three counts of sexual assault and one count of lewdness.
He was booked into Clark County Detention Center and was released on April 21 on $10,000 bail, authorities said.
None of that stopped the wedding from happening though, as a Facebook post from Delaney on April 26 said, “Married AF yo.”
