A Houston lawyer who attempted to intervene in a dispute between a McDonald’s customer and a worker was shot to death, and now the shooter has been arrested, according to police.
On May 4, Jeffrey Limmer, 46, stepped into the middle of the fight between 57-year-old Anthony Martin Landry and the fast food worker that was sparked over the accused killer's order, according to the Houston Police Department.
As a result, officials said, Landry became upset with Limmer and turned his focus on him, shoving the man to the ground while they were outside.
The suspect then went to his early 2000s Ford pickup truck, pulled out a gun and allegedly shot Limmer twice, according to authorities.
Limmer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Houston police, who launched a manhunt for Landry, recently announced he was arrested and charged with murder.
Limmer worked for the Houston law firm Lewis Brisbois.
"He loved fiercely his family and friends," the victim’s sister, Jennifer Thomas, told KTRK," noting he was "always laughing, making jokes and just loving life.”
