Lori Vallow indicted on conspiracy to commit murder charge for 2019 death of her husband: Prosecutors
Lori Vallow has been indicted for conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the death of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow.
“Lori N. Vallow, on or about July 11, 2019, with the intent to promote or aid the commission of an offense, to-wit: First Degree Murder, agreed with Alexander Cox that at least one of them or another would engage in conduct constituting the offense of First Degree Murder,”the Maricopa County Attorney's Office said in a June 29 statement.
Cox, who passed away in December 2019 from what was determined to be natural causes, then called 911 to report he killed his 48-year-old sister’s husband, prosecutors said.
Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel noted that “complex, difficult cases of this nature take time to properly investigate and solve."
Vallow, along with her fifth husband, Chad Daybell, who she married in November 2019, is also charged with the murders of her son, Joshua "JJ" Vallow, 7, and daughter, 16-year-old Tylee Ryan.
The children disappeared in September 2019 and their remains were found buried on Daybell’s Fremont County, Idaho, property last June.

The children were last seen alive in September 2019 and their case became a national sensation. The couple left their Idaho home area as police questioned them in connection to the children’s whereabouts and the death of Tammy Daybell, who died a few days before Chad Daybell got remarried, according to media reports.
The children’s remains were found on the Daybell property in Fremont County, Idaho, during the summer of 2020.
Police have not revealed how the children died, but the indictment indicated a connection to the couple’s religious beliefs, according to reports. Chad Daybell was an alleged cult leader and ex-grave digger.
The latest indictment comes just weeks after an Idaho judge ruled that Vallow was not competent to stand trial. She is currently undergoing treatment in Idaho.
Daybell, 52, also faces charges in Idaho of first-degree murder and insurance fraud in connection with the death of his 49-year-old wife, Tammy Daybell, in October 2019. In that case, Vallow is accused of conspiracy.
