A first grade teacher in Los Angeles has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting six students in his classroom, according to authorities.
On May 22, a student reported that 29-year-old Martin Reyes Jr., a teacher at Sunrise Elementary School in East Los Angeles, had sexually abused her, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.
Investigators believe Reyes sexually abused at least six female students during recess inside a classroom and all of the victims were reportedly enrolled in his class.
On July 12, Gascón announced that Reyes was charged with 10 counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14.
Reyes was arrested and his bond was set at $1 million, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 27.

Reyes’ booking photo was released because officials believe he is responsible for additional, unreported sexual assaults, officials said.
"Our educators are entrusted with creating a safe and nurturing environment where students can learn and grow without the fear of abuse or exploitation," Gascón noted in a statement. "It is our collective responsibility to ensure that schools are places where all students can thrive, free from the threat of sexual violence."
