Toddler weighing 11 pounds found in a Louisiana home, parents arrested, cops say
Police say they found “gruesome discovery” at a Louisiana home when they found a 3-year-old weighing a mere 11 pounds inside the residence.
On Nov. 1, Shreveport police responded to a home on Larue Street for a reported medical emergency.
Officers spoke to medics who were helping the 3-year-old. The toddler was “severely malnourished” and in poor health, according to Shreveport police. The child was taken to the hospital, where the victim weighed in at 11 pounds.
The typical weight of a 3-year-old is between 26 and 38 pounds.
The child’s parents — Ietadterneisha Marshall and Derrick George — were both arrested. They were each charged with one count of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and booked into Shreveport city jail.
Child services was also contacted, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
