In March 2022, deputies began an investigation after a report of a woman impersonating others and fraudulently getting money from elderly victims.

The victims said a woman dressed in medical scrubs approached them at grocery stores and started a conversation, according to the sheriff’s office. The woman, later identified as Davis, told the victims she worked for their doctor’s office and asked if they recognized her.

Davis lied to the victim, telling them her car broke down and she needed money to pay for the wrecker, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victims gave her money and Davis said she would pay them back when she returned to work, the sheriff’s office noted. But instead, she stole the money.

Davis was arrested and charged with two counts of theft less than $1,000 and two counts of exploitation of the infirmed.
