A Louisiana man is accused of raping a 75-year-old woman and then passing out in her bed long enough for police to arrive and catch him, according to a report.
Around 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 16, police said a 75-year-old woman was in the bathroom when someone she had never seen before appeared in the doorway “wearing a ski mask, underwear and socks while holding a silver kitchen knife,” WBRZ reported.
According to authorities, the attacker made the woman drink alcohol and forced her to perform sex acts at knifepoint.
Eventually the man passed out in her bed, which gave the woman enough time to escape and call 911, police said.
Officers arrived at the house and said they found Conway Tullier, 45, sleeping in the woman’s bed with the knife and ski mask nearby.
Investigators said they found clothing and shoes in a storage room near the woman’s garage, which tied Tullier to the crime.
When talking to police, Tullier acknowledged going into the woman’s home and drinking alcohol, but then asked for a lawyer, police said.
The victim told police she did not know Tullier and had never seen him before.
He was booked into jail and charged with first-degree rape and home invasion, officials said.
