Child Left To Die In A Hot Car For Hours, Woman Now Faces Murder Accusations

A woman left a child in a hot car for five hours, and now a woman faces a murder charge.
This week, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana announced the arrest of Ivy Lee, 22.
On Aug. 14, police were flagged down by a motorist, identified as a Lee. She said her 6-month-old child was not breathing, according to the sheriff’s office.
Responders tried to provide care and the victim was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Lee told investigators two stories, including the child was not in her care. But Lee also said she drove to her work and left the child in the SUV for about five hours, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police searched the car and also found marijuana inside.
Lee was charged with second-degree murder and possession of murder. She is being held on bond set at $1.2 million.
