Louisiana Man Accused Of Having Sex With Underage Girl In Custody

A 22-year-old Louisiana man accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl he met on social media was arrested.

According to arrest records, Tejan Dottery was arrested this week in connection to an incident that took place when he was 19 years old.

Police began to investigate the incident in March 2022 when the girl's mother told police that she had sex with a 19-year-old man. The girl allowed police to go through the contents of her cellphone to find evidence.

While investigating, officers found "sexually-charged" text messages between the girl and someone named "Tejan." Police say that in the messages Dottery told the girl that he didn't want her to "get caught dating a 21-year-old.

According to police, the victim reported meeting Dottery on social media before exchanging phone numbers. They later began met up in person on three occasions.

Police say the victim told them that during one of the meetings Dottery touched her inappropriately before they had consensual sex. Police identified Dottery as the suspect by tracking down the phone number, according to WAFB.
