A Louisiana man has been arrested and charged in connection with an argument turned murder, police said.
Richard Lee Gilbert, 39, was arrested this week and charged with second-degree murder, according to West Monroe police.
On Sept. 23, police were called to the 100 block of Linderman Avenue in West Monroe, Louisiana, for a reported shooting.
Police say the investigation showed there was a disagreement between two people in the front yard of a home.
One person, identified as Clara B. Hardwell, 33, was shot multiple times, according to West Monroe police. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Gilbert left the scene, but cops identified him as the suspect. He was later arrested. Authorities have not said what the argument was over.
Gilbert was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center and is being held on $1 million bond.
