Suspect Faces 100 Counts Of Rape In Alleged Human Trafficking Case, Police Say
A 38-year-old faces 100 counts of rape for alleged sexual assaults, with some of the victims being children, police said.
In the summer of 2021, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana was told about the possible sex trafficking of a juvenile.
The report started in Florida but was connected to the Louisiana area, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators started to look at the case and identified Israel Jermaine Williams, 38, as a possible suspect.
Police conducted a months-long investigation and found probable cause to arrest Williams. He was arrested in recent days and charged with more than 100 counts. He is being held in jail on more than $5.4 million bond.
His charges included 100 counts of first-degree rape, two counts of molestation of a juvenile victim under 13 years of age, obstruction of justice and contempt of court.
