Teen found dead along Louisiana bayou, two accused of murder: report
Two people have been arrested in connection to the killing of a 14-year-old girl found dead in a Louisiana bayou, police said.
In June, 14-year-old Taysia Folse’s lifeless body was found in a wet, grassy area off a road in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, according to the å.
Deputies investigated and identified 20-year-old Travon Washington as a suspect in the case.
Investigators did not say how the teen died or how they identified the suspects.
Authorities determined Washington was being held in Washington Parish jail on an unrelated charge of second-degree murder. He now faces a first-degree murder charge in connection to the teen’s murder.
Recently, police arrested a second suspect. Elijah Williams was charged with first-degree murder in connection to the killing.
“The dedication, commitment, and hard work put forth by our deputies, assisting agencies, and our community throughout this investigation is nothing but commendable.” said Chief Jimmy Travis. “After countless investigative hours, dozens of interviews, and numerous Crime Stopper’s tips, it was made possible to bring this case to justice.”
