A dad in Louisiana faces a murder charge in connection to the beating death of his 2-year-old son, according to reports.
Police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, announced this week that Anderson King, 25, now faces a first-degree murder charge after the death of his toddler song, Kyland King.
He was booked into jail on the murder charge.
On Aug. 7, police responded to a hospital for a report of a child who was “severely beaten,” according to WAFB.
When officers arrived, they were told Anderson King brought his son to the hospital. Medical staff tried to save the child but were not successful, according to the report.
The victim had numerous old and new injuries.
Anderson King initially said his son fell down a flight of stairs a few days earlier and had not acted the same since, according to WAFB. He said the child became unresponsive on Aug. 7, but instead of calling 911, he went to get the victim’s mom from work.
Later, Anderson King admitted that he beat his son with a belt, the report noted.
