A Louisiana Woman Went With Her Boyfriend to Visit His Mother. Then, She Stabbed Him to Death.

A Louisiana woman was found guilty of fatally stabbing her boyfriend in 2020 and then not reporting his death to authorities for over eight hours.
On Sept. 3, 2020, Kimberly Johnson, 43, and her 43-year-old boyfriend Lemel Taylor returned to their Shreveport home after visiting with Taylor’s mother.
The next morning, Johnson called 911 and said Taylor was not breathing.
First responders arrived at the scene and found Taylor stabbed to death on the living room sofa. EMTs determined rigor mortis had set in and an autopsy later showed the victim had been dead more than eight hours when the 911 call was made.
Investigators said there were no signs of forced entry at the home.
Johnson first claimed to not know what had happened to Taylor, but she later admitted stabbing him after she claimed he threatened her. She had a self-inflicted cut on one hand, but no other injuries.

Evidence found at the scene also contradicted Johnson’s story of a struggle and she later admitted to disposing of the murder weapon in a sewer drain. Johnson took police to the drain and the knife was recovered.
On June 13, Johnson was found guilty for the death of Taylor.
She returns to court on July 6 for sentencing and faces a mandatory life prison sentence without possibility of probation, parole or reduction of sentence, officials said.
For the obstruction charge, she faces up to 40 years at hard labor.
