A Las Vegas man is in custody after law enforcement officials say he allegedly killed his neighbor after claiming the victim exposed himself.
Around 7 p.m. on May 13, officers responded to a home in Las Vegas and found a man, later identified as 47-year-old Joe Moreno, in the driveway suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Medics pronounced Moreno dead at the scene.
Police then identified 32-year-old Eddi Moreno as the primary suspect.
When talking with police, Eddi said he and Joe Moreno got into a fight even though, he claimed, the two had never met.
Authorities said an individual called 911 and reportedly said a neighbor was “causing a disturbance and grabbing their genitalia.”
During the fight, Joe “stood on a large boulder,” and allegedly “pulled his penis and scrotum out and began thrusting” toward the suspect, according to court documents obtained by KLAS-TV.
Eddi Moreno then told his wife to go get his gun and call 911, but when Joe began moving towards Eddi and reached down his pants, the suspect allegedly shot him, the documents allege.
Detectives were able to obtain doorbell camera footage of the incident, according to officials said.
In the footage, Eddi can be heard after shooting the victim saying: “That’s what he gets. He’s not going to do that in front of my kids. Are you crazy?”
Eddi told police that Joe accused him of breaking into his home during the fight. The suspect claimed he thought Joe was reaching into his pants to grab a weapon, but police did not find one in his possession.

Eddi also claimed he had never met Joe, but Joe can be heard calling out the suspect’s name following the shooting, officials said.
Eddi was arrested and charged with open murder, police said.
He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and was being held without bail.
