Law enforcement officials in Michigan said a man has been arrested after he allegedly jumped into the middle of a game of catch at a park and started touching the children playing.
On June 21, Jeremy Mills, 38, was at a Pinckney park when he encountered the group of children, allegedly making the children “uneasy” with his “grabbing, tickling and holding,” according to the Pinckney Police Department.
According to police, Mills threw a football at police officers who were called to the scene, and he told officers he was a friend of the children’s parents.
Witnesses reportedly said they heard Mills tell the children he was their uncle. According to police reports obtained by WJBK, both statements were untrue and Mills didn’t know the children or their parents.
Police reports state Mills “repeatedly” grabbed one young boy, who thought he was getting kidnapped. The boy's parents called for him to come to them, but Mills allegedly blocked his path, the report also alleges.
Police said Mills appeared intoxicated and resisted arrest. He was eventually handcuffed and escorted out of the park.
