A Louisiana man has been sentenced to decades in prison and he must be castrated for raping and impregnating a girl when she was 14 years old, according to authorities.
On April 22, a judge sentenced 54-year-old Glenn Sullivan Sr. to 50 years in prison, as well as physical castration, after he pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree rape, according to the 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux.
Authorities said the investigation began in July 2022 when the young woman told Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives that Sullivan had raped her numerous times when she was 14 years old.
Prosecutors said the girl became pregnant and a DNA test revealed that Sullivan was the father.
Officials said that Sullivan had also “groomed the victim,” and threatened to harm her and her family to “prevent the young woman from disclosing the rapes.”
In a statement, Perrilloux said, "So many of these types of cases go unreported because of fear. The strength it must have taken for this young woman to tell the truth in the face of threats and adversity is truly incredible."

District Attorney Brad Cascio, who prosecuted the case, added, "Sex crimes against juveniles are the most malicious crimes we prosecute. I intend on using every tool the legislature is willing to give us, including physical castration, to seek justice for the children in our community."
