Michigan Mansion Murder Mystery: Detroit Doctor Shot Dead, Body Wrapped In Sheet Left in Attic
Authorities in Detroit want to know who entered a mansion and killed a respected neurosurgeon.
Dr. Devon Hoover's body was found in his luxurious home northwest of downtown Detroit on April 23. He had been shot once, wrapped in a sheet and left in a crawl space in the attic.
WJBK-TV reports Hoover, 53, had planned to travel from Michigan to visit relatives in Indiana last weekend. But he never arrived. Instead, his car was found on Detroit's west side, at some distance from the mansion.
"That man was an angel," a neighbor said. "He was beautiful. Everybody was shocked.”
The neurosurgeon had lived in the mansion for 15 years. Police think Hoover's shooting is an isolated case.
