Man shot dead as he tried to stop a fight at a Maryland Burger King: report
A man tried to intervene during a fight at a Maryland Burger King. It ended with him dead, and a suspect accused of murder.
Around 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 26 Frederick police responded to the restaurant for the incident.
Investigators said Darin Tyler Robey, 20, got into an argument with a woman inside the Burger King, according to Frederick police. Jaion Antonio Penamon tried to intervene in the fight.
Police did not say what the argument between the woman and Robey was over.
Robey then shot Penamon while they were in the vestibule, according to police. Penamon was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested Robey and charged him with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and several gun charges, according to Frederick police. The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact police at (240) 674-7058.
