A Maryland man faces charges after police say he abused children through his wife's daycare center.

Baltimore County detectives have charged 54-year-old Edward Biedenkapp with child abuse and rape after a child came forward and told authorities about the abuse, according to a statement from Baltimore County officials police did not release the age of the victim.

Based on information gathered by members of the Baltimore County Crimes Against Children Unit, officials said they have reason to believe more children may have been abused between the time span of 2007 and 2011.

Officials said the children would have referred to Biedenkapp as "Mr. Eddie," and his wife ran Biedenkapp Daycare in the Perry Hall area at the time of the assaults.
