A suspect lay in wait until his target was in his bedroom, then he shot the victim to death, police said.
Around 3:30 a.m. on June 13, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland responded to a shooting in a home.
When deputies arrived, they found a man with a fatal gunshot wound, according to the sheriff’s office. The victim was identified as Tyree Tashawn Richardson, 20, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said Richardson went to the home and headed to the bedroom. There, Terrance Kenneth Yancey, 22, was waiting for him. Yancy fired multiple rounds, hitting the victim.
Yancey then ran away from the home. Authorities have not said what led to the shooting.
The next day, deputies arrested Yancey.
He is being held in jail without bond on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree assault and other counts.
