According to police, her son, Alfredo Paratore, 49, was the one who called police to report he found her on the floor and believed she was dead.

Officials said Alfredo appeared to be nervous and could not remember the last time he talked with his mother or the last person who saw her. Alfredo said he came home and found her dead, according to police.

Authorities said Katherine’s body was found inside the doorway and it appeared to have been there for some time.

Katherine had no shirt on and police said they found internal organs on the welcome mat inside the house.

Her body had cuts by the right collarbone and right hand, officials said. She was also covered in bruises on both arms, the neck and head, NBC10 Boston reported. Her dentures were also found nearby.

Authorities said they found blood splatter on the walls, along with dried blood and bloody handprints.

Police also found scratches on Alfredo’s cheek and ear, as well as having dried blood on his left hand.

According to officers, Alfredo told them he used suboxone about 15 minutes earlier, so officers administered Narcan as it appeared Alfredo was overdosing.

Alfredo was charged with murder and ordered held without bail, officials said.
