Police say that the incident was a “domestic violence situation.”

On Sunday, the community came together to hold a candlelight vigil in Kamari’s honor, WREG 3 reported.

“That girl was special. That smile right there. That girl was special,” Kamari’s father told WREG 3.

A GoFundMe was set up to help with funeral arrangements and hospital bills. The page was created by the victim's aunt and said anyone who met Kamari loved her.

"She was so innocent and had her whole life ahead of her," the page reads. "She is the sweetest ever. This is such a tremendous loss for my family."
