Teen Admits To Killing 13-Year-Old Girl As Part of Gang-Related Crime In Tennessee: Report

An 18-year-old who police say killed a 13-year-old girl as part of gang-related violence has been arrested, according to Local Memphis.
Memphis, Tennessee police have charged Mikhael Thompson with murder in connection to the April 1 homicide. The girl has been identified as Mary Wallace, Local Memphis reports.
Thompson admitted to the killing when speaking with investigators and said it was gang-related, according to the news outlet.
Police went to the 3000 block of E. Point Cove in the Cedar Hill Apartments at approximately 1:45 p.m. April 1 for the report of a shooting. They found Wallace shot and lying outside an apartment door, Local Memphis reports.
The police affidavit states that shots were also fired into the apartment, where three others, including two juveniles, were. Officers said four men had been seen running from the incident location. Police later released video showing three of the suspecting fleeing, according to Local Memphis.
Police gathered information that pointed to Thompson as a person of interest and obtained a search warrant. The affidavit says police found several guns when they arrested Thompson, including one that had been stolen in March, Local Memphis reports.
Thompson admitted to shooting the girl and said one of the guns they had recovered was used in the shooting, the outlet reports.
