On Feb. 6, police said they discovered the lifeless body of 55-year-old Felix Cruz in his Allapattah home. Cruz was suffering from multiple wounds.

Investigators determined a suspect in the case was 45-year-old Angel Jimenez Mejia, a neighbor of Cruz who has not been seen since the incident, Local 10 reported.

Officials said Cruz and Mejia were believed to be in some sort of dispute.

In a press conference, Miami police Assistant Chief Armando Aguilar said, “[Mejia has] been missing since the homicide. He has not been in contact with his family. He has not returned home.”

Police said Mejia ditched his blood-stained clothing at the scene of the crime and they do believe they have the murder weapon. However, those details are not being released.

Aguilar added, “We don’t want to make public yet the exact cause of death. We’re hoping to hear that through a confession by the defendant.”

Cruz’s wife stood inside the Miami Police Department during that press conference and asked for the public’s help in finding the man that killed her husband of 12 years, officials said.

Cruz was a mechanic and left behind his wife and three children, officials said.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).å
