A South Carolina Man Watched the Horror Movie 'Halloween.' Then, He Prayed, Put on a Michael Myers Mask and Stabbed a Woman to Death.
A South Carolina man inspired by a horror movie dressed up in a mask, prayed and then went out to kill a woman.
Jawan Kavorie Crittenden, 20, recently was sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to the murder of the victim, who was a new city employee at a recreational facility in Florence, WPDE reported.
Twelfth Circuit Assistant Solicitor Ryan White said the defendant admitted to investigators that he watched a Halloween movie starring the character Michael Myers and decided he wanted to commit murder.
According to White, Crittendon said he then prayed and then rode his bike to the recreational area, where he saw the victim and asked if her if he could use the center’s bathroom.
After going into the bathroom, he exited wearing a Michael Myers mask and then stabbed the victim multiple times.
She later died from her injuries at a local hospital.
During Crittendon’s sentencing hearing, his parents addressed the court, saying they were sorry for what happened.
