Jailhouse Rock: Top-Ranked Elvis Impersonator Caught in Motel with Minor Accused of Sex Crimes, Cops Say

A Michigan man who works as an Elvis impersonator has been arrested after authorities say he allegedly engaged in child sex crimes with a 16-year-old girl in Pennsylvania.
On Feb. 23, a federal grand jury indicted 45-year-old Matthew Chantelois on three counts related to the interstate sexual exploitation of minors, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
According to the indictment, in and around October 2023 and in and around January 2024, Chantelois allegedly “used, persuaded, induced, and enticed a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of that conduct."
Chantelois is also accused of “possessing and transporting child sexual abuse material in interstate commerce.
Around 4 a.m. on Jan. 24, officers arrested Chantelois at a motel in Summit Township, Pennsylvania after he was caught with a naked 16-year-old runaway from New York, according to an arrest report obtained by WDIV-TV.
The victim claimed she met Chantelois on social media, and he gave her vodka and they exchanged nude photographs, the report states.

Chantelois was charged with interference with custody of children, corruption of minors and sell/furnish liquor to a minor, officials said.
He was booked into jail on a $100,000 bail.

If convicted, Chantelous faces between 15 and 60 years in prison, a fine up to $750,000, or both.
According to the suspect's website, he works as an Elvis impersonator under the name “Matt King” and is “one of the world’s top-ranked Elvis tribute artists."
