Michigan man who allegedly slashed wife’s throat, tried to cover up murder ‘was very controlling,’ deputies say
A popular school employee in Michigan was discovered murdered in her home and her husband is now under arrest, authorities said.
On May 17 just before 11 a.m., the sheriff's department did a welfare check on Tatiana Vuichard, 59, at her Commerce Township condominium after she failed to show up for work as an administrative assistant at Novi Schools and sent a text message that “didn’t’ seem like her,” a prosecutor told the court, according to Detroit’s WJBK.
When deputies showed up at her home, “They knocked on the door, knocked on the window and they didn't get a response,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “They were waiting for the daughter to arrive with a key” when the woman’s husband, Vincent Vuichard, 63, opened the door.
Deputies noted the automotive systems engineer had scratches on his face and blood spattered on his shoes, according to the prosecutor.
“He said he 'got into it last night with his wife,’” the prosecutor said of how the suspect explained his injuries.
Vincent Vuichard allowed officers into the home, and they discovered his wife’s nude body wrapped up in garbage bags and a comforter on the bathroom floor, Bouchard said, according to The Detroit News. The victim’s throat was slashed.

Investigators also found bloody clothing, a shower curtain and towels as well as bleach, gloves and cleaning supplies in garbage bags in the murder suspect’s Ford Escape, Oakland County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Shawn Werner noted.
“There is a long history and pattern of a domestic violence relationship here,” the prosecutor said of the couple’s relationship. “The defendant was stalking her outside her work. He was banned from the Novi school district, he could not come there anymore, he was very controlling.”
The suspect was booked into Oakland County Jail and charged with homicide. He was denied bond, online records show.
