A man was reportedly found dead in a closet after the suspect allegedly dragged his dead body there because she was "tired of looking at him.”
Iyanna Marie Colon, 21, is accused of killing 25-year-old Maan Saleh Alblowi . She reportedly went to the Portage police and reported a man was unresponsive at an apartment in Briargate Apartments, near Westnedge and Idaho avenues on Jan. 18. She was arraigned two days later.
Colon reportedly told investigators she and Alblowi got into a fight over loud music, which reportedly escalated. Alblowi allegedly charged at her and eventually started choking her, and that she was in a life or death situation “that caused her to in turn choke Alblowi, who stopped breathing,” according to WKZO News.
She reportedly told police she “spent an hour and a half sitting next to him crying and praying." Once she realized he was dead, she covered him with a robe and dragged him into a closet, according to MLive.com.
She then went to sleep on the man's living room mattress for a few hours and then took a walk in the apartment complex parking lot because she was, "tired of looking at him," according to WWMT News.
When Colon woke up, she took a bus to her family and told them what happened and reportedly told her family used cleaning products in the apartment to try to conceal her fingerprints. She and her parents went to the Portage police to report what happened.
She was held during the investigation for two days before being charged.
Medical examiners said Alblowi suffered injuries to the neck, head and upper body consistent with the events described by Colon.
