Former Michigan middle school band teacher accused of sexually abusing student 25 years ago
A former Michigan middle school teacher was arrested after a female accused him of sexual misconduct while she was a student decades earlier, officials from the Wyoming Department of Public Safety said.
Late last year, the woman, now an adult, told police about alleged incidents involving Charles L. Elsenheimer that she claimed occurred over several months during the 1996-1997 school year at Godwin Heights Public Schools in Wyoming, WZZM reported.
According to the station, the woman told police the alleged abuse occurred in as well as outside of school.
Following a police investigation, police charged Elsenheimer, 49, with first-degree criminal sexual conduct on Feb. 10.
School superintendent Bill Fetterhoff said the accused has not worked in the district for a “considerable amount of time.”
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Wyoming Department of Public Safety at 616-530-7300 or submit a tip through Silent Observer.
