A 9-year-old Minnesota girl was shot as she played on a trampoline and died weeks later. Now, police are trying to find the suspected shooter.
Trinity Ottoson-Smith was playing on the trampoline on May 15 when she was shot, Minneapolis police stated. She died on May 27 and her death was ruled a homicide, according to MEAWW news.
"Our officers who showed up at this scene with the nine-year-old girl critically injured with a gunshot to her head knowingly violated policy by picking this girl up, running her to the squad, and taking her to the hospital, doing what they could to save her life," Department spokesman John Elder told MEAWW.

Reports suggest \the person who shot her was in a red four-door Ford driving in an alley toward the house where the children were playing, according to MEAWW.com. The person opened fire and then fled the scene.
The suspect is still at large.
Trinity’s mother, Nicole Ottoson, wrote on a GoFundMe Page that her daughter was shot in the head while she played with her friends.
"She did not deserve this. She has plans to change the world. She wants to be a teacher," Ottoson wrote. "She loves making Tik Toks, doing art, doing makeup, playing Roblox with her friends, playing with her siblings, going on adventures, riding her bike, playing soft ball and basketball and doing gymnastics. She has been my shadow. Everyone who knows Trinity loves her.”
As of May 30, the family has raised nearly $60,000 through the GoFundMe campaign.
