A Minnesota woman was found stabbed to death in her apartment and now police say a suspect has been arrested in connection to her murder.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 9, officers responded to a 911 call, and when they arrived at the apartment, they found a woman in her 40s with a stab wound to the chest, according to the Saint Paul Police Department in Minnesota.
Officers and medics tried to give aid to the victim, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
According to authorities, the Forensic Service Unit processed the scene. The Ramsey County medical examiner conducted an autopsy to identify the victim and determine the exact cause of death.
After some investigation, officials said they made an arrest in connection to the stabbing death. Police said 38-year-old Maurice Angelo McClinton Smith was arrested and booked into the Ramsey County jail for murder.
Officers said they found Smith outside a home a couple miles from the scene after they received a 911 call reporting a man outside acting strangely.
Investigators did not say if the suspect knew the victim. They also didn't release a motive for the alleged attack.
