Man In Arkansas Arrested For Murdering His Still-Missing Girlfriend, Police Say
A suspect in Arkansas is accused of murdering his girlfriend who recently went missing and has not been located, authorities said.
Police took Kacey Jennings, 28, into custody on Sept. 26 and charged him with capital murder and abuse of a corpse in connection with the disappearance and presumed death of 28-year-old Allison Maria Castro, the Fayetteville Police Department announced.
According to officials, on Sept. 19, officer responded to a residence, where Jennings “was experiencing an apparent drug overdose.”
“Several documents were discovered at the scene indicating that Jennings possibly killed Ms. Castro, and he disposed of her body,” said police, who have not released further information about what the documents consisted of or what they allegedly contained.
After detectives spoke with Castro’s family, they learned Jennings and Castro were previously in a relationship and lived together.
Family was unable to contact Castro. Concerned for her safety, they reported her missing and police launched an investigation.
“As the investigation unfolded, additional information was discovered that led to an arrest warrant for Jennings,” police said, adding they arrested Jennings “after his release from a local medical facility.”
Castro’s body has not been located, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
