The body of a missing Minnesota woman has been found and police announced the father of her children has been arrested in connection with her murder.
On June 7, a deputy from the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office used “information generated during the Madeline Kingsbury investigation” and found human remains in some brush off the highway in Mabel, according to the Winona Police Department.
After the body was found, officials arrested Kingsbury’s ex, 29-year-old Adam Fravel, in connection with her death and disappearance.
On June 8, the Winona Police Department held a press conference stating the human remains were positively identified as Kingsbury’s.
Police Chief Tom Williams said her body was found off a “low-maintenance public roadway and was not property owned by the Fravel family or her relatives.” Williams said the area was previously searched, but her body was “covered and concealed in such a manner that she was not visible.”
The cause and manner of Kingsbury’s death have not been revealed.
Kingsbury was last seen on March 31, when she and Fravel dropped their kids off at daycare around 8 a.m., police said. Williams said Kingsbury made it home by 8:15 a.m., but her coworkers became concerned when she failed to show up for work that day, which was “very unlike her.”
Investigators talked with Fravel, who said he took Kingsbury’s minivan and left around 10 a.m. When he returned home, Kingsbury was gone. Officials said they found her wallet and phone at the house.

On April 5, Williams said at a press conference, "We believe Maddi’s disappearance is involuntary, suspicious, and we are all concerned for her safety."
Fravel was booked into the Winona County Jail and charged with second-degree murder, officials said.
