Teen Accused Of Gunning Down Mom's Boyfriend — Just Hours After Graduating High School
A teen is accused of gunning the boyfriend of his mother — just hours after high school graduation, according to reports.
Around 7 p.m. on May 21, the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi responded to a home for a reported shooing, according to WTVA.
When deputies arrived, they found one person dead, according to the report. The victim was identified as Dustin Hoffpauir.
Deputies identified 18-year-old Justin Robert Coggins as a suspect. He was charged with murder.
Sheriff Eddie Hawkins told the station that Coggins graduated from high school earlier the same day.
Investigators said they believe the shooting stemmed from domestic violence but didn’t provide additional details, according to WTVA. Hoffpauir was the boyfriend of Coggins’ mom.
Coggins was charged with murder and is being held in a Mississippi jail.
