Two parents face murder charges after their infant child died, police said.
Last week, the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi announced it charged Brittney Brady, 23, and Steven Busha Jr. with first-degree murder. They were also each charged with two counts of felony child neglect.
The parents were arrested in connection to the death of their 5-month-old daughter, according to the sheriff’s office.
On July 31, deputies responded to a home after the victim was found unresponsive, according to the sheriff’s office.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where she died a few days later.
Police said the infant was in Brady’s care, as were two other children. Busha is the father to all three children.
Investigators have not said what caused the child’s death.
