Suspected murderer returns to scene to get cell phone back, dials up trip to jail
A suspected murder returned to the scene of the crime to retrieve his cell phone and that decision put him directly in cuffs.
Police in Jackson, Mississippi, responded to a fatal shooting at an intersection around 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 26, according to WLBT.
The unidentified victim was shot in the face and died at the scene, Jackson police stated and reported by WLBT.
But police said Tyrunte Spann returned to the scene as police were investigating to retrieve his cell phone, according to MagnoliaStateLive. Officers were examining the device and Spann wanted it back, the reports stated.
Spann was taken to police headquarters and interviewed, police said. That is when he was charged with murder.
Investigators did not detail any possible motive for the shooting or if Spann knew the victim.
