68-Year-Old Gunned Down In Mississippi And Suspect Arrested. Police Mum On Motive.

A 68-year-old man was shot and killed and now another person faces capital murder charges, authorities said.
This week, police in Pascagoula, Mississippi, announced the arrest of Kevin Sherrod, 45. He was charged with capital murder.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 7, police responded to Agnes Street for a reported shooting.
When police arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. Authorities tried to provide first aid but were unsuccessful and the victim as pronounced dead. The victim was later identified as Claude Bivins, 68.
Officers found a suspect — later identified as Sherrod — nearby, police said. After a short chase, officer caught and arrested him.
They also found a gun that Sherrod allegedly discarded.
A motive in the shooting has not been released. Authorities have not said if Sherrod knew the victim.
