Four Mississippi Teens Could Face Death Penalty In Alleged Botched Robbery That Became A Murder
Four teens planned to rob a 41-year-old man but committed a murder instead, police said.
Last week, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi announced the arrest of the teens in connection to the death of Mikel Craven. The four charged were: William Austin Hill, 17, Emerson Houston, 19, Jeremy Klutts Jr., 15, and Greyson Klutts, 17.
All of the teens have been charged with capital murder, according to the sheriff’s office.
Craven was killed on Blake Road on March 11, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators believe robbery was the motive.
But police did not say if the teens knew the man before the incident.
Jeremy Klutts Jr. was granted $75,000 bond and ordered to wear an ankle monitor, according to the sheriff’s office. The other three suspects were denied bond and are being held in a Mississippi jail.
