A suspect taped steak knives to a golf club to use in an alleged attack, according to police.
Patrick Lee Myres, 52, was charged in connection to the July 22 case, according to KTVO. He was arrested after a standoff with police. Myres now faces charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
Around 3:30 p.m. on July 22, police in Kirksville, Missouri, were called to a home for a report that Myres was waving a gun and a stick with knives attached to it while on a bike, according to the news station.
Witnesses said they saw Myres swing the golf club with two knives attached at a woman, cutting her finger, the report noted.
When police responded, they found Myres in a home and he did not respond to them, according to KTVO. A SWAT team went in through the back door to find him in the attic.
Myers told police that he confronted the woman and another man because they took money from his “old lady,” according to the report.
