A 63-year-old homeless man has been charged with murder after police say he killed another homeless person this week.
Around 8 p.m. on Feb. 8, police responded to a call about a welfare check in the woods near the intersection of Popps Ferry Road and Cedar Lake Road in Biloxi, Missouri, which was the location of a known homeless camp, WDAM 7 reported.
When officers arrived, they found the body of a 52-year-old man who lives in the camp, according to WDAM 7.
Police say he appeared to be the victim of an assault, but the motive for the attack is still under investigation, WDAM 7 reported. The victim's name was not released.
Davis Thomas Jordan, 63, was identified as a suspect and he was arrested in the immediate area without incident, according to WDAM 7.
Jordan was charged with first-degree murder, and his bond was set at $1 million, WDAM 7 reported.
Jordan was taken to Harrison County Adult Detention Center to await his initial appearance, according to WDAM 7.
